STRATEGY: A Road Map to Success

A vision without a strategy remains always an illusion. It would be like a frustrating journey where you would be spending hours and months….but at the end of the journey, you are left with no outcome in your hands.

Though there is no fixed and deterministic path to success…….yet there are directions to reach the success. Every success as its own protocol, In this article you will be trained to make your own effective strategy. So, let's learn how to advent a strategy for yourself !!

The journey from a student to an Aspirant.

Broadly, there are 6 basic stages to clear an examination :

  • Setting a target/aim

  • Making of strategy

  • Selection of books

  • Note making

  • Revision

  • Self-Assessment

The first and foremost step for a student is to Set a Target, which will be the date of commencement of preparation of any particular exam they're aiming at. From here, the journey begins :)

STRATEGY is an art of planning and directing the overall journey. So, prior to Strategy Making, one must keep in mind the following core points -

  • Before making a strategy, one must do complete research on the goal including its syllabus, pattern, important topics, scoring topics, and other necessary details. Get yourself cognizant of anything and everything important regarding your target. Give proper time and attention on research (maximum 10 days).

  • Now, since you have an idea about the exam and its demand, for which you are going to spend your entire time and energy. Don't start your preparation without having a clear strategy.

  • The strategy which you will make must be feasible, it should not be like you planned long studying hours and then when you are at the stage of following you are unable to follow them, so make a practical and sound strategy as per your potential. Feasibility favours consistency.

  • Once you formulate a strategy, you should have faith in it. Ensure that throughout your journey you must stick to a single strategy formula. Don't get distracted and do not change the plan until and unless you are not getting effective results.

Keep patient and trust your strategy because this is a strategy which you have devised yourself that too after doing much research and analysis. Try to stick to it . As this is the mistake which students often commit during their preparation and then waste most of their precious time in formulating different strategies.

  • Also always introspect yourself and examine your preparation time to time. As introspection will act like fuel in this journey. And doing this will let you know your areas of weakness and strength so that you can move further accordingly.

  • Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. So you must consistently and deliberately execute your strategy.

After endorsing these points, I guess you are ready to devise a well-analysed, practical and productive strategy.

Now, Create a Roadmap, under the speck of time keeping the following aspects in mind:

  • Decide from which subject you have to start and with what to end. Try to start with difficult topics as they will require time and you will be able to give ample time on understanding them thoroughly.

  • Decide how you are going to organize your notes, while preparing. Especially make sure to make self-handwritten notes, as they are the only way to excel.

  • Make a list of all the books you will need during the preparations.

  • In your strategy, make sure to set several time slots for revision and make a revision blueprint.

  • Also, add self assessment sessions to check your position, as it plays a very crucial role in cracking any exam.

  • Make sure to have all the study materials handy atleast before 2 or 3 months of the examination, so that you don't need to run for notes or something important in the last moment.

It's said that Success is 20% skills and 80% strategy. So if you plan your roadmap with determination and focus following all the steps mentioned above then I can say that half of your journey has been covered ;) The only thing you need to do is to calm down, focus yourself and act like a soldier who is in the midst of a war following his own strategized orders and moving ahead crossing all the hurdles. As we say,

Strategy Without Execution is AIMLESS & Execution Without Strategy is USELESS.

Have Faith, You CAN & You WILL 😊
